Meet the CEO
Dr. Chuma Simukonda is a renowned Landscape Ecologist with over 27 years of experience in Wildlife Management and Conservation of Natural Resources. He has served at the highest leadership level in the Department of National Parks and Wildlife, Ministry of Tourism of Zambia, where he played a crucial role in shaping the country’s wildlife conservation policies.
Dr. Simukonda’s expertise spans wildlife and natural resource research, protected area planning, ecosystem management, and policy formulation. He has worked closely with local communities, research organizations, and international partners to promote sustainable wildlife management and conservation practices.
As a strong advocate for community-based conservation, Dr. Simukonda has been instrumental in promoting the benefits of regulated hunting and sustainable wildlife management. He has also served on various regional conservation committees, including the KAZA Carnivore Steering Committee and the African Elephant Specialists Group.
Dr. Simukonda is a respected voice in African conservation, and his work has been recognized with several awards, including the Green Merit Award for conservation of natural resources.
